Chumbe Island Coral Park

Chumbe Island Coral Park is an eco-lodge featuring seven solar-powered bungalows situated between the beach and a coral rag forest. The bungalows include queen-size beds, self-contained bathrooms with composting toilets, living rooms with handmade furniture, and hammocks. Guests can explore the Coral Reef Sanctuary, one of East Africa's most diverse reefs, or walk through the forest reserve, home to rare coconut crabs and the endangered Ader's duiker. Meals at Chumbe Island Coral Park showcase Swahili cuisine, prepared with local ingredients and served in the Visitor Centre. Activities include guided snorkeling, intertidal walks during low tide, climbing the historic lighthouse, and observing wildlife such as roseate terns and green turtles.
